The Canadian government announced on September 29, 2021, that all direct flights from India will be resumed. This announcement comes after a month-long ban on direct flights from India to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection in Canada. After this ban expires on September 30, travelers will be able to board direct flights from India to Canada.
What Will be the Requirements of Boarding a Flight from India to Canada?
To board a direct flight from India to Canada, you must:
- Take a Covid-19 molecular test result from the Genstrings Laboratory located above the metro station in the Airport Connecting Building at the Indira Gandhi International Airport
- Take the test no longer than 18 hours before your scheduled departure
- Present this test to the air operator before boarding the flight
If you have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past, you can present your positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days before your departure, issued by a certified laboratory in India. If you do not meet these requirements, you may be denied boarding.
